Meet Our Partners for the

Environmental Justice Mural:

  • Christopher Wilson (he/him) is the 1st Vice-President of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Ontario Canada Chapter. Christopher is a community and labour activist with over 20 years of experience advocating for workers in the struggle to end racial capitalism.

  • Denise Hampden is the Regional Education Officer for one of Canada’s largest unions the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and a member of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.

  • Naolo Charles co-founded BE Initiative with Ingrid Waldron in 2019. BE Initiative is a fairly new project dedicated to the involvement of racialized communities in environmental action.

  • Dr. Antonia Sappong-Kumankumah works as a Family Doctor in Toronto and with CAPE. She understands the connection between individual and environmental health and is a passionate advocate for access to healthy environments. As part of her role as Co-Founder of PlasticFree Toronto, she works to educate and inspire her community.

  • Lin Sappong works as a model and actress in the Greater Toronto Area. She is interested in the intersection between the fashion industry, and environmental sustainability. She recently started a community volunteer initiative called Leslieville Reduces & Co-Founder of PlasticFree Toronto.

Danilo McDowell-McCallum is a Toronto-based visual artist. He works professionally as a painter, videographer, illustrator, graphic designer, muralist, and art mentor. A product of the city, the characters depicted in McCallum's work reflect a diverse landscape of people.

Poetry Jazz Cafe was established as a live music and poetry venture in 2010 featuring Jazz, Blues, Soul, Rock, Comedy & Poetry. Poetry blazed through 10 years of joy and pain, positioning the space as teh No.1 spot to witness the next generation of musicians and poets in Toronto & Internationally.
